the artist
Welcome to my artist website! My artistic journey began in 1968 when I embarked on my adult studies in Advertising Design and Visual Communication at Pratt Institute in New York. Over the years, I experienced various changes in schools, locations, and careers, but it was in 1980 that I truly found my passion for painting and promoting my artwork.
Using primarily oil paint as my medium, but also exploring acrylics and silk screen, I have had the privilege of selling my art in over twenty states through multiple galleries and distributors. In the mid-1990s, I made the decision to further my education and completed my BFA, majoring in Painting and Drawing with a Minor in Art History.
Recognizing the challenges of relying solely on art sales for a comfortable retirement, I spent the next 13 years pursuing a successful career in real estate. However, eight years ago, I made the decision to retire and reignite my art career. Alongside my lifelong interest in ceramics, I attended classes for eight years at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center in Atlanta, under the guidance of esteemed artists Glenn Dair and John Roberts.
Around the same time, I developed a fascination with woodworking and invested in a lathe. This led me to start turning wooden bowls, which have become an integral part of the approximately 450 figures I have created using clay, wood, or a combination of both. To further enhance my skills, I continue to attend woodturning symposiums and classes taught by some of the world's most accomplished woodworkers.
Currently, I sell my artwork to private clients from my studio in Atlanta, as well as through esteemed galleries such as Main Street Gallery in Clayton, GA, and River Gallery in Chattanooga, TN.
Thank you for visiting my website and exploring my artistic journey. I hope you find inspiration and enjoyment in my diverse range of creations.
